The idea for a model comes spontaneously, like a stroke of lightening. The fruit of a sudden intuition followed by long reflection, it is always grounded in meticulous study of markets and fashion.

It isn’t easy to keep on designing original models that surprise and impress after so many years of incredible successes.
The Design, Prototypes and Samples team know all about such problems and have risen to the challenge, everyday for years now, with ingeniousness and precision.
 
This well structured and closely knit group of people (a hundred or so) all have invaluable technical and intuitive capacities. Each of them provides an important contribution and together they form an inexhaustible font of creativity and solutions.
Collaboration multiplies the force of know-how and the energy of enthusiasm, both indispensable in solving day-to-day problems and monitoring the whole process of creating a sample, from start to finish.
 
Underpinning all this is the creativity, passion, enthusiasm and experience of the designers, a group of people who channel their inspiration into the shapes, colors and distinctive details in each model.
 
Ever in search of innovation and originality, the designers “see” eyewear as art, as objects to put on display. Driven by this “vision”, they survey the market and its famous names but draw above all on their own imagination and inexhaustible capacity to astonish every time, in every model.
The designers thus cover the entire concept phase of the creative process, culminating in the creation of the model.
This where the prototype makers, in their workshop, come into action and transform designs into beautiful one-off pieces, crafted by hand with meticulous precision.
 
Starting with the designers’ plans, they make the prototype using a range of tools, some basic, some advanced (small work stations, laser engraving, sinterization), and do all the detailing by hand. They shape the materials, assemble the pieces and produce a new prototype frame that looks original, sometimes surprising.
 
Each new frame is clearly the fruit of creativity but also precision and manual effort. And equally clearly, behind every idea, design, prototype and detail chosen there’s a wealth of experience and intuition. In the samples department, the utmost care goes into choosing colors and small details that may seem insignificant but in fact make the difference and render the frame precious in terms of originality and style, like a jewel.
 
Geometrical lines marry with fantasy to generate compositions in which every detail contributes to the harmony, elegance and overall visual impact of the finished piece.

The staff in this office record all the relevant data (colors, settings, cycles, photos and other information) so that all the manufacturing , commercial and marketing people can work on the products to be presented. Communication and interaction between people and departments is key to achieving a constant stream of new solutions and a creative process that generates unique products.

Speed and determination in coordinating the various phases enhance overall efficiency. And sometimes schedules are extremely tight, for example when models are needed by stylists for fashion shows. All these aspects are fundamental and indispensable for those working on the product everyday and need to show the utmost professionalism towards licensors. The track record of success over the years gives deep satisfaction to the people who contribute to it everyday and is a strong stimulus to carry forward the whole adventure to new levels of excellence.
