LUXOTTICA ATLANTA: A BEACON OF INNOVATION, SERVICE EXCELLENCE AND COMMUNITY

The Atlanta facility represents a point of excellence for Luxottica innovation and service. The Group recently invested over 100 million to reinvent this site, which had been operating for more than twenty years.

Quadrupling its size hiring – in the last few years – more than 1,700 new employees and adopting technological advancements have solidified Atlanta as the primary hub in North America for both the Group's logistics and its production of ophthalmic lenses, supporting wholesale, retail and e-commerce.

Today in Atlanta, ophthalmic lenses are processed near the warehouses that receive the frames produced in other Luxottica factories. The “complete pair” frames are assembled under the same roof and then sent to the Group's retail stores, to consumers through the Group's e-commerce platforms and to wholesale customers. This integration replicates the model implemented by Luxottica in Sedico (Italy) and Dongguan (China), to guarantee the highest level of service and quality in every eyewear component.

The Atlanta facility occupies over 300,000 square meters and includes four buildings. Adding the finished frames to Oakley apparel, footwear and accessories, more than 44 million products are shipped each year from Atlanta. Each week, the hub processes over 60,000 pairs of ophthalmic lenses.

In addition to logistics, Atlanta also stands out for its innovation: the use of cutting-edge technology plays a central role, thanks to investments in a fully automated warehouse, which makes the order management process faster, more precise and accurate.

Investments and innovations, however, are not limited to buildings and technology: what makes the Group  truly special is the people. Luxottica has invested in meeting the needs of employees and improving the quality of their time spent at work. Atlanta is a place where a sense of community is encouraged, deeply rooted in the company's DNA.

This philosophy has been the secret that made the first factory in Agordo great. Now Luxottica, wherever it goes in the world, is committed to replicating that success. Among the many programs launched in favor of employees is the "Family Day": a special event, borrowed from the Italian experience, which Luxottica organized in Atlanta for employees and family members last fall. The day attracted over 3,000 members of the Luxottica community, giving employees a chance to show their families the fruits of their dedication and hard work through guided tours of the facility and fun elements that showed the true meaning of the hashtag #LifeAtLuxottica.
