Luxottica celebrates National Sunglasses Day

National Sunglasses Day, held annually in the U.S. on June 27, is a national campaign from The Vision Council to raise consumer awareness on the importance of wearing sunglasses to protect the eyes from the sun's UV rays.

In honor of National Sunglass Day, Luxottica’s brands have planned several campaigns and promotions to mark the event and encourage consumers everywhere to think about their eyes. Luxottica’s plans including activations at select high-end department stores including Bloomingdales and Nordstrom, featuring artists who will draw complementary caricatures of customers wearing their favorite Ray-Ban sunglasses and invite them to share the images on social media. 

Sunglass Hut in particular will launch a multimedia campaign the week leading up to National Sunglasses Day. The campaign will not only establish Sunglass Hut as the curator of the latest eyewear styles leading into sun season, but also highlight the added benefit of protecting your eyes from the sun’s harmful rays.  All products featured in the SGH campaign will be polarized.  The campaign will use email, websites, social media and the in-store digital windows, as well as an influencer campaign using the day’s official hashtag #NationalSunglassesDay.
