73 Medals and Climbing for Oakley Athletes
As a global brand, Oakley’s presence in China and around the world continues to grow on a daily level. Oakley CEO Scott Olivet (pictured in white) visited Beijing to check out Block 8, cheer on the athletes and meet with the Chinese press. Meeting with six different media outlets around China, Olivet educated the media on the Oakley legacy, the brand’s innovative products and the future growth into other areas such as apparel, Rx and Uniquely.
As Oakley athletes head into the final days in Beijing, they continue to exceed expectations taking home a total of 27 gold, 23 silver and 23 bronze medals.
Oakley athletes made all the right moves in the Olympics first ever BMX competitions.
The finals in men’s BMX was a hard fought battle with all the Oakley top guns pedaling for gold—including Rob van de Wildenberg of Netherlands, Jared Graves of Australia, Sifiso Nhlapo of South Africa and Mike Day of the US.
Oakley’s Anne-Caroline Chausson continued her reign of the Olympic BMX track in the women's final, taking home gold for France. Fellow Oakley teammate Jill Kintner of the US took bronze.
