OneSight has developed significant program and volunteer support in North America, Australia and China to provide free vision care and eyewear to those in need through organized Regional and Vision Van Clinics.
Regional Clinics
OneSight volunteers and doctors provide free eye care and new eyewear to those in need during one to two week temporary clinics in major cities across North America and in Aboriginal communities across Australia.
OneSight partners with local organizations to select recipients to be seen during each one-to-two week Clinic.
In 2009, OneSight will conduct more than 25 weeks of Clinics with a goal of helping 35,000 people in need.
Vision Van Clinics
OneSight also operates two Vision Vans which travel across North
America bringing clear vision to those in need. Each Van is a mobile optical lab, equipped with everything needed for a complete eye exam and new pair of eyewear. Local doctors and volunteers staff the Vans at each stop.
In 2009, OneSight has planned 40 Vision Van Clinics across North America with a goal of helping 6,000 children see more clearly.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the OneSight program. Your gift of glasses is one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. I have greater confidence. I feel safer because I can now see my surroundings. You have restored my faith in the generosity of others. Thank you!” Andrea, OneSight Recipient, Canada 2009
