ONEDAY 2016: ANOTHER YEAR OF SUCCESSES FOR ONESIGHT

On December 13th Luxottica celebrated OneDay for OneSight, the leading global organization focused on providing permanent access to quality eye exams and glasses to those who need it most. This day of celebration is also dedicated to the Group’s thousands of volunteers who have contributed to the success of OneSight’s work around the world.

Clear sight helps people live life to their fullest potential. And yet – according to a study conducted by Deloitte in partnership with OneSight - one in seven people around the world still do not have access to vision care. It is a global vision care crisis that OneSight has been fighting for over 28 years.

2016 marks an incredible year: with an additional 3 million around the world who have access to vision care, there are now 5 million people with access thanks to OneSight’s work. This work is made possible because of the commitment from Luxottica and the Group’s thousands of volunteers who brought their expertise, passion and dedication to the cause around the world.

But OneSight’s goals for 2017 are equally ambitious.

In 2017 OneSight will host more charitable clinics around the world and will travel for the first time to Malaysia. New sustainable vision centers will open in Rwanda and Zambia. Another eight centers will be built in China as part of the Smart Focus program that provides assistance for children in rural villages. More students will access to vision care through the school-based vision center program across the United States.

And much more. Stay connected of OneSight’s progress by signing up for the organization’s newsletter at OneSight.org.
