Named best brand in the new Eye Care category for 2020, Pearle Vision rises through the overall ranking to No.58, placing the brand among the best ones of all franchises on the list.

Pearle Vision was ranked No.1 in the prestigious Franchise 500® 2020 list by Entrepreneur magazine for the new Eye Care category and rises through the overall ranks from No.75 (2019) to No.58 (2020).

The results of the magazine’s annual rankings are based on outstanding performances and key factors such as costs and fees, size and growth, brand strength and stability.

The brand’s presence today on Entrepreneur’s list of the top 500 Franchises in North America is an accomplishment in itself, given that there are more than 3,000 franchise brands in the U.S. alone. Entrepreneur received more than 1,100 applications for the 2020 ranking, making it one of the most competitive rankings in Franchise 500 history. 

Pearle Vision’s journey started in 1961: Dr. Stanley Pearle founded “Pearle Optical” in a small office in Savannah, Georgia with five employees and a love of people.

His vision is simple: providing a one-stop, total eye care experience delivered by a trusted neighborhood doctor combined with an extensive selection of quality eyewear. 

In 1981, Pearle Vision, which has since grown into a household name, started offering franchise opportunities to select doctors and opticians. In 2004, the brand was acquired by Luxottica. Today, it encompasses more than 500 Eye Care Centers located throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. To be ranked as the No.1 Eye Care franchise on the list is a recognition of its long-standing high-quality service.

The prestigious ranking comes as Pearle Vision opened new franchise locations throughout the U.S. over the past year and announced new area development agreements in strategic markets in Florida, North Carolina and most recently, California. The brand also partnered with the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCMO) to bring national optical retail centers to at least three U.S. naval bases.
