SUNGLASS HUT EXPANDS ITS PRESENCE IN MACY’S
Luxottica signs an exclusive agreement with Macy’s, one of the major department store chains in North America, to open new Sunglass Hut stores in addition to those already present inside Macy’s locations. Thanks to this agreement, Sunglass Hut affirms its position in the department stores segment and significantly expands its presence in the United States.

RETAIL EXPANSION IN LATIN AMERICA
Luxottica expands in Latin America by acquiring Multiópticas Internacional, the parent company of GMO, one of the main chains of optical stores in Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia with the Opticas GMO, Econópticas and Sun Planet brands.

ACQUISITION OF TECNOL: “MADE IN BRAZIL” EYEWEAR
With the acquisition of Grupo Tecnol, the major brasilian player in eyewear, Luxottica creates a production and distribution platform that allows the Group to improve its level of service offered to Brazilian customers and expand its presence in Latin America's largest market.

EXPANSION IN RETAIL SUN IN IBERIA
Luxottica expands in the retail sun segment in Europe with the acquisition of the Sun Planet sun specialty stores in Spain and Portugal, rebranded later in Sunglass Hut.

ALAIN MIKLI INTERNATIONAL
Luxottica acquires Alain Mikli International, a French luxury and contemporary eyewear player. Created in 1978 in Paris, Alain Mikli brand has always been synonymous with innovative design, which combines unique details with unconventional use of colors inspired by his heritage. Its sophisticated and subtly off-beat style is one of the most recognizable in the eyewear market.

STARCK EYES ENTERS THE GROUP’S PORTFOLIO
The brand becomes part of the license portfolio with the acquisition of Alain Mikli. It was created in 1996 as a result of the collaboration between Philippe Starck and Alain Mikli, who patented Biolink®, the innovative screwless hinge based on the human clavicle bone, which allows 360° movement for greater strength and comfort.

ONESIGHT SUSTAINABLE CLINICS IN THE GAMBIA
In the Gambia, OneSight opens its first sustainable and permanent eye care center for the local community, an innovative model operated by properly trained local staff. Luxottica provides funding, equipment and the significant support of volunteers who make their expertise available for OneSight.
