During a Field Management Basic Training 12.0 meeting, Jackie Culp, Sunglass Hut Regional Vice President and the FMBT team demonstrated their passion for OneSight by presenting a $10,000 check to Executive Director, Jason Singh, after he gave an informational overview of the program and its goal to eradicate the global vision crisis.

“Fundraising for OneSight is a passion for Luxottica associates, and the FMBT groups have taken advantage of this opportunity to come together as a team to raise money and give back,” said Culp.

There were four fundraising groups led by the FMBT guides, and the groups raised money in many ways, including purchasing the option to wear jeans to work, a silent auction and other traditional fundraising methods.  Valerie Martens, Sunglass Hut Senior Store Manager, raised over $1,200 selling homemade tamales!

“This generous level of support from associates will help us in our efforts to fund sustainable vision care programs for the millions of people that suffer from vision loss,” said Singh. “We are ecstatic and thankful for this amazing gift.”

FMBT prepares field and store managers from all brands for field leadership positions by helping them become more effective more quickly. The course includes a three-day workshop, six-week extended learning sessions and a two-and-a-half day feedback session. Many past groups have donated to OneSight, plus other charitable funds like Hurricane Sandy Relief.
