25 years ago several LensCrafters employees saw a need for vision care in their local community and decided to use their optical expertise to give back to others. What started with a few individuals quickly became the mission for a global nonprofit organization dedicated to giving the gift of sight to 563 million people worldwide whose vision could be restored with an eye exam and pair of glasses.

Since 1988, OneSight has helped more than 8.4 million people in 40 countries and is leading solutions to provide sustainable access to quality vision care and eyewear for millions more. The OneSight Research Foundation has also granted more than $7.8 million to fund optical research and education.

Luxottica is proud to be the founding global sponsor of OneSight. In addition to providing annual operating support, today more than 1,000 Luxottica employees volunteer their skills and expertise every year to staff OneSight Vision Clinics. The commitment is to teach and transfer skills to locals as part of OneSight’s Sustainable Development Initiatives providing permanent access to quality vision care and eyewear in underserved communities worldwide.
