The Persol Award was presented to Liev Schreiber on Friday, 2 September at the Palazzo del Cinema, Lido di Venezia, at the screening of The Bleeder, the out of competition movie directed by Philippe Falardeau and interpreted by Schreiber and Naomi Watts. It is a biographical film that tells the story of American boxer Chuck Wepner, the inspiration for the character of Rocky Balboa in the famous Rocky film series.
