Promoting talent: our partnership with Bocconi University

Luxottica becomes Sustaining Partner of the prestigious Italian university: concrete aid to support social and professional mobility


Financial aid to the most deserving students, supporting their training and growth. This is the objective of the partnership that our company has created with Bocconi University, recognized by the most authoritative university ranking system as an international center of excellence in the fields of economics and social sciences, law and management. 

The agreement was presented today, May 21st, during #DinamicaMente, an event hosted by the university and transmitted in live streaming video on Representing our company and its commitment to developing young talent will be Andrea Guerra, who, together with Rector Andrea Sironi of Bocconi University, addressed the topics of professional and social mobility. Daniele Manca, Deputy Chief Editor of Corriere della Sera, moderated the debate.

With this agreement Luxottica becomes a Sustaining Partner of the university for five years, and will fund a scholarship program benefitting undergraduate and post-graduate students. From among the many programs offered by Bocconi, Luxottica has chosen to support those with an international focus, linked to several countries of importance to the company, including China, India and Hong Kong. In particular:

  •  the World Bachelor in Business, a triple degree that offers young people from around the world a four-year curriculum with required attendance at Bocconi in Milan, as well as at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and at the University of Science and Technology in Hong Kong;
  • the Double Degree in International Management, a Master of Science entirely in English, with the opportunity to attend the first year at Fudan University’s School of Management in Shanghai, and the second at Bocconi;
  • the Post Graduate Program in Business at Mumbai International School of Business, SDA Bocconi School of Management, which has chosen India as the site of its first campus abroad;
  • the Project called Una scelta possibile (A Viable Option), created to give socially and economically disadvantaged students the chance to attend Bocconi University, benefitting from full reimbursement of expenses occurred for their education. 

The partnership is further confirmation of the close ties between our company and the international academic world, and in particular with Bocconi University, with whom Luxottica has collaborated in employer branding and recruiting projects for several years. Our company will continue to strive to offer internship opportunities to top candidates from the university.

Investing in deserving youth is a strategic priority for Bocconi. It is also a commitment that Luxottica takes on every day, with the goal of building a better future for communities wherever our company operates.
