STARCK BIOTECH PARIS TITANIUM COLLECTION: THE ULTIMATE STRENGTH AND EXTREME LIGHTNESS
Starck Biotech Paris new eyewear collection devotes particular attention to Titanium, a unique material that combines extreme strength and lightness, developed for both BIOLINK and SPHERE patented articulation with featuring minimal elegant and timeless style.
Since 1996, the French creator has been designing ergonomic “bionic” eyewear with a unique patented technology inspired by the clavicle of the human body. At the heart of its philosophy is Bionism: the intersection of technology and nature, as the concept of taking inspiration from the organic to create technologies better suited for the human being.
For the Spring - Summer 2021 TITANIUM COLLECTION, the brand is focusing on the evolution of its two successful bionic technologies, SPHERE and BIOLINK.
The styles in the SPHERE collection consist of a revolutionary new hinge with a 0.07 g steel ball that connects the ultra-thin titanium temples to the front of the frame injected with an exclusive material: the high-tech Gravity Evo polymer. Made without screws or welding, SPHERE technology offers unparalleled freedom of movement and unique lightness, with each frame weighing less than just 15 grams. The innovative feature is the joint on the temples, which offers new possibilities in terms of lightness thanks to the use of an ultra-slim made in Italy titanium structure.
The unique SPHERE technology is the winner of the 2021 iF DESIGN AWARD 2021 in the product design category. iF International Forum Design GmbH has been honouring outstanding and innovative designs every year for 67 years. The SPHERE technology has been granted among more than 10.000 entries with some of the high average scores among participants for each one of the criteria: relevance of the innovation, form, function, differentiation, and environmental impact by winning over 98 independent experts of the jury composed of members from all over the world.
Titanium is also used for the new BIOLINK models, featuring an elegant milled frame and acetate temples handcrafted by skilled Japanese craftsmen in Fukui eyewear-manufacturing district. The patented biomechanical hinge designed by Starck for BIOLINK models is based on the structure of the human micro clavicular joint. As in the shoulder, every frame in the collection offers free 360° movement, providing unique comfort and flexibility.
