Versace Biggie, a Meeting of Icons
The new Versace Biggie Fall/Winter 2021 collection is closely tied to the pop culture and music of the ’90s. The Medusa Biggie model, the favorite one of the legendary rapperThe Notorious B.I.G., . is today reinterpreted in models that enhance its most iconic components, such as the metal elements, blending them with the brand’s unmistakable symbols.
The two sunglasses are distinguished by the clean cut of the transparent temples, which, embellished with the famous Medusas, reveal the frame’s signature metal detail.
The first feminine cat-eye glasse features sophisticated transparent shades with metallic hues that illuminate a model inspired by Hollywood divas. The look is completed by the redesigned voluminous Biggie temple with the iconic Medusa in transparent pink with pink lenses, silver mirror transparent gray with silver mirror dark gray lenses and gold mirror transparent brown with brown lenses.
The second model is unisex and restyles the Versace Biggie temple with a laser-engraved logo on the back bar, creating a unique, unconventional look. The glasses are available in silver mirror transparent gray with silver mirror dark gray lenses, gold mirror transparent brown with brown lenses, and transparent light green with green lenses.
The rest of the Fall/Winter collection also features geometric shapes and designs inspired by the brand’s most recognizable motifs. A perfect example is the optical model, a soft cat-eye silhouette made of extremely feminine acetate that restyles the legendary Biggie profile, reinterpreting the temples with a metal Medusa and the Versace logo laser-engraved on the back bar. Boasting a contemporary personality, this stylish optical frame is designed for a palette that offers options in black, transparent pink or havana with black temples.
The collection is accompanied by a campaign that plays with geometric shapes and innovative designs, reviving the famous La Greca print presented on the Fall-Winter 2021 runway. Shot by the legendary Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the Versace Eyewear Fall/Winter 2021 campaign stars supermodel Vittoria Ceretti, joined by Nacho Penin.
